Crazy mind and too many ideas give... me. And everything I make. Sorry, and good luck.

Fields of Gold

(yeah, I like Sting)

As when I began sewing, it took me some time to make actual garments in crochet.
Accessories, shawls, have that advantage that if you mess with your gauge, it's not a problem. An actual garment, on the other hand, like a cardigan... well, it would be better to fit you and have the correct measurement if you don't want to look funny when wearing it.

Furthermore, I loved this pattern (Drops) at first sight. And I needed a beige cardigan.

Trying to be serious, I began with swatching. Result : perfect, follow the pattern and it'll be great.

Nothing to say about the cardigan. The pattern is really easy and asks for little if no concentration at all.
I had read the notes of another crocheter before beginning, which avoided me a mistake (Drops' instructions are quite... weird sometimes).
And I had bought one more ball, just in case (better too much than not enough), and I have now 1 1/2 balls of leftovers. Enough for another small project then.

Once all the pieces were finished, it took me 3 weeks to finally putting them together ! I needed a break from this project.
But as soon as it was seamed, I wore it. Even before crocheting the border... I was that eager.

The cardi looks better with the border. However, I didn't sew a button, I prefer to close it with a pin.

Finalement, il a déjà été beaucoup porté !

I wear it a lot !

In French, we have something that's called "tricotin", a very small knitting mill in fact.
With some green thread, a celtic knot, and voilà! a new necklace for a friend of mine (who loves green).
